This is a simple fundraiser that helps subsidize the Transverse Myelitis Association budget. Our non-profit organization utilizes the FundingFactory Recycling Program to recycle collected cartridges and cell phones. The program features FREE prepaid shipping labels, online accounting, and a business component that enables companies and individuals to collect cartridges and cell phones in support of our efforts.

The Transverse Myelitis Association will earn money to be used toward research for and education of neuroimmunologic diseases of the central nervous system, which include: Transverse Myelitis (TM), Neuromyelitis Optica (Devic’s Disease), Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis (ADEM) and Optic Neuritis.

Please consider collecting used cell phones and empty printer cartridges within your company to benefit the Transverse Myelitis Association.

How cartridges and cell phones benefit the Transverse Myelitis Association
Last year alone, more than 500 million cartridges were thrown away, while 30 million cell phones were tossed or replaced. We’re alleviating the volume of waste that goes into landfills, while earning the funding we need to support our efforts. All laser and inkjet cartridges as well as cell phones collected through this effort are sent to FundingFactory, a company based in Erie, PA, that offers the nationwide recycling program. When the boxes arrive at FundingFactory, the items are inspected and the value for each collected item registers in our online account.

How to Register as a Supporter

Individuals can register as a Business Supporter. Since the form is setup for a business supporters, it can be a bit confusing.. For "Organization Name" enter Your name, address, etc. For "Title" select Other  and put "supporter" in the blank. Alternatively you can contact customer service for additional options at 1.888.883.8237, from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM EST. Please identify ID number 63960 as the beneficiary organization.

Our customer service team at FundingFactory would love to pay our group for every single cartridge that you can collect. Unfortunately, not all cartridges can be remanufactured which means they cannot be refilled and resold.

• Please do not send toner tanks - Toner tanks are simply containers that hold toner. They have no value in the FundingFactory program. When they arrive here they must dispose of them according to state and local regulations.

Just Labels
FundingFactory is encouraging you to recycle boxes that you already have to ship your used cell phones and cartridges. FundingFactory provides Just Labels for your convenience. Just Labels are prepaid yellow UPS Authorized Return Service (ARS) labels that provide your boxes with 100% FREE shipping. Please support our Green Initiative and help us reduce the consumption of fossil fuels and cardboard by reusing boxes!

Packing Your Boxes

• A minimum of 8 qualifying cell phones, 18 qualifying inkjet cartridges or 8 qualifying laser cartridges are required in a box, but you could send more. More items shipped together inside one box helps reduce cardboard usage.
• Inkjet cartridges, laser cartridges and cell phones must be shipped separately or separated in smaller boxes inside one larger shipper box.
• Just Labels should only be used to ship the minimums listed.
• Boxes must be no larger than (20"W x 20"H x 24"D) and not heavier than 40 pounds.
• Damaged items net zero value and are not considered qualifying items. Be sure to carefully pack cartridges and cell phones and use bubble wrap or newspaper as a cushion between items.
• When using your own boxes fill them, tape them shut and place a yellow Just Label on your box and drop off at an authorized UPS location.

Sending Boxes via UPS

DO NOT CALL UPS TO HAVE YOUR BOXES PICKED UP! UPS charges a mandatory fee for this, which cannot be waived. This charge cannot be refunded by FundingFactory or Transverse Myelitis Association.

To avoid unnecessary shipping fees, your boxes should be sent back using one of the following methods:

1. Leave your boxes out for the UPS driver to see when making deliveries. UPS drivers are required to pick up packages with Authorized Return Service (ARS) labels when they drop off packages.
2. Take your filled boxes to a UPS authorized drop-off location.
