Thank you from the PA SRNA Walk-Run-N-Roll Team

Pennsylvania’s SRNA Walk-Run-N-Roll event was held on April 13, 2013 at South Park.  It was a cool brisk morning with blue skies where you needed to wear extra layers- jackets, gloves and even blankets.  Excitement was in the air! We were so pleased and blessed to welcome approximately 100 participants.  Most were family and friends. One business, Opeka Auto Repair in McMurray, PA, joined us with five employees and donated $485.00 to the cause.  We were so very happy and honored to bring together eight women (including a 2-year old) living with the effects of TM giving them a chance to meet each other and share their stories.  Morgan Hoge welcomed Janet Aloia, Dove Bright, Elizabeth Sexton, Lisa Grillo, Maria Hoge, Suzan Holt, Brittany Kyper, and Rhonda Layman to the event.  The walk started at 9 a.m.  We offered T-shirts for $10.00 and Car Decals for $7.00 to all the participants.  SRNA wristbands were given to all who joined us.  Following the walk most folks stayed for the “Meet and Greet” we had arranged at the Museum Building. Food was provided by Schramm’s Farm and Orchards, Trax Farms, Lisa Grillo (everyone loved her TM Ribbon Cookies), Farley family and the Hoge family provided lunch.  Local Sponsors of the event were Employees of MEI Systems, Employees of Western PA Sports Medicine, Merten Dental Associations, Dr. Erik Mertens, H Financial Management, Zimmer’s Service Center, and South Allegheny Internal Medicine.

We thank friends and family and teams that helped raise funds to support the various teams led by Brittany Kyper, Maria Hoge, Rhonda Layman, Opeka Repair Auto, Linda & Lee Farley, Melissa Rousseau, Ben Zimmer, Tanya Hileman, Suzan Holt. We raised $5,900! Thank you to Kate Schramm who took all the pictures!

To everyone who was involved in this event, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!  You are the best and we could not have done this without you.  Thank you!  Thank you!  It was an unbelievable experience and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Until next time, God Bless, Take Care, and Keep in Touch!
